So let's do it! Full of belief, confident that we're presentable inside and out. Let's keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let's see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching. Hebrews 10:23-25, The Message

I received a trip to Lake Arrowhead, walking around shopping with my husband and boys. Funny thing ... we ran into another mom, Laura Sonksen, and her family there. Same present, same Mother's Day. Bright minds and all that!
This year I gave both my girls a art-deco kinda thing that is a mother with a child in her arms for their first mothers day, along with the message that I admire and respect their motherhood, they opened them seperately but had the same beautiful response.I was touched that they were touched on a level that only us moms can understand. What a gift, to this mom.
Mother's Day has become such an emotionally & financially manipulative day that back on Easter I told my kids that all I wanted was a note from each of them telling me what 5 things they appreciate about each of their siblings. Oh, the agony - but they pulled it off! It was good (though difficult!) for them to consider those qualities & they were pleased about what was written of them when I read them out loud. Then I barbequed & watched Steve Martin's Cheaper By The Dozen. A very nice Mother's Day!
I enjoyed the pre- "nonMother's" Day present I received from my neighbors a few weeks ago. It was yellow, miniature potted roses. It made me feel so special and caught me by surprise.
